We stayed here several years ago. It is a small, pet friendly hotel with a courteous helpful staff. The rooms are not fancy, but clean and nicely stocked. We ate breakfasts there every day and they were great. The wisteria in the courtyard was beautiful when we were there in the spring of 2017 (April 10 to April 13). We also had a fabulous dinner in the restaurant one night. This village is a hidden gem and needs to be seen. The views from the village into the valley below are unbelievable when there is fog. Plan on exploring on foot.
Looking for a place for lunch, we found the Hostellrie du Vieux Cordes serving Galetes and Crepes. On a cold day, we loved the warm ambience of the beautifully appointed dining room and the attention of our charming and friendly hosts, who …
Very special town and a hotel with a lot of history. The terrace drinks and dinner were a once in a lifetime experience. Challenge to drive and park there though.
We have just spent a very pleasant two nights in Cordes at the Hostellerie du Vieux Cordes which is in a traditional building renovated to a high standard.
Our room (no. 2) was adequately spacious and comfortable with a view over to the opposite hills. The decor and furnishings were of a high standard, The bathroom had a nice shower (no bath). There was no tea/coffee/kettle or bottled water provided in the room (except on request).
The staff were very pleasant and helpful
Breakfast was a little disappointing. There was cereal but no bowls, and only one croissant per person (but plenty of bread). The yoghurt and compote were too sweet for my taste and my wife would have liked strawberry jam. They were under-staffed (it was the start of the season) so there usually wasn't anyone present to ask about things without going to reception.
Dinner was excellent with a limited menu (2 duck and 2 salmon dishes plus cassoulet, and a different fish when we were there).
Overall a very pleasant experience and recommended.
We had some problems regarding our room and despite the fact that the hotel was almost full, thew owner did her best and in the middle of the night (5 minutes after the problem started) she found us another room and helped us move.
They are so lovely and the breakfest alone worth the trip over to France
Lovely, comfy, old hotel in the heart of the Upper town, which is an incredible place. Restaurant serves tasty food and has an outside terrace with amazing views. Thoroughly recommend staying here
I experienced a real hospitality in this hotel.
I felt really welcomed and their service was so good. Very attentive.
This hotel is located right next to église and heart of vieux cordes.
And their restaurant was excellent. It was newly renovated and beautifully decorated. The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was also great.
Excellent hotel, full of character, in a beautiful historical village. Good, well equipped room, very helpful service and an excellent restaurant.
